Years ago artist Joe Venus embarked on a magnificent journey; one that challenged him to venture back in time, to the prehistoric era of the mysterious Fremont Indians.

His quest led him to create paintings that would suspend a moment in time, when the enchanting Fremont Indian civilization inhabited the cliffs, valleys and mountains of Nine Mile Canyon near Price, Utah.

In the painting Noble Fremont Shaman, Venus wanted to put the viewer in a face to face meeting with a member of that elite segment of the Fremont society... mission accomplished, beautifully.
